How to stop a program to load MP3

Windows can assign only a program with a particular file type.

For example, you can install a new multimedia player that overrides your existing. If that happened when you tried to open a music file, the new player send instead of the former. This scenario may occur with Microsoft Word. To prevent that load Microsoft Word to open another program instead, change the file associations. Level of difficulty: Moderately easy

    Press "Windows"- and "E" set to open Windows Explorer.

See the files and folders on your hard disk.

    Select a file that you want to open Microsoft Word.

  • For example, if Word now open is when double-clicking "xyz.txt", find the file, and click it. A menu opens.

    Select "Open with" and select "Choose default."

  • "Open with" window will open and display a list of programs.

    Place a check mark next to "use the selected program to open this file type."

    Double-click the program the you the file to use as the default program to open.

  • If you want to use a program on the list, click "Browse" and choose a program from your hard drive.

    Click "OK".

  • Windows will now quit Microsoft Word open when you double-click the file. The new program you have chosen will open it instead of it.
